At last!
Long awaited, wonderfully welcome!
A guest!
Your languid long limbs casting incandescence, dispelling shadows
Your touch!
The amorphous caress of your glowing self
Through me!
As around me, as above, as without, some peculiar marvel springs into being

My doorbell chimed an unprecedented number of times today. “Unprecedented,” in this case, means greater than one. And that one is usually a package being delivered.

Not today though! Today, in all its grey, rain-soaked glory, deposited helpful neighbors and a welcome guest (for my 3-year old daughter, who already gets more visitors than I ever have) on the doorstep.

Not everyone loves visitors. Some people, or even vaguely humanoid subterranean sentient beings living in woody lairs, might be resistant to intrusion.

This lounging individual seems to be glad of the company. I can only imagine that having your dim, solitary cavern suddenly accessed by a hovering mass of glowing light and tentacles could be a shock. She (I’ve just this moment realized that this particular entity is a she) seems quite pleased to be receiving her guest. So much so that she goes beyond, I’m sure, customary hospitality. It’s quite touching. Perhaps if one greets new experiences with both an open mind and heart, they can be the launching point for grand adventure.

I’m not sure how I would react if a flying, luminescent jellyfish-spirit-soul-phantasm-creature had been one of those doorbell rings this morning. Then again, I don’t have a surplus of seclusion to secure - I can be protective of the blips of free time that come my way.

My loss, I wonder?
